Personal politics aside, the video by Will.i.am, frontman for the Black-eyed Peas, called "Yes We Can" speaks to the power of music and video to inspire. It can be seen as a music video or a campaign ad; your choice. It's just very, very good in my book.

YouTube the Librarian's Song
A lovely day here on Echo Lake and I am frustrated with Google and my laptop! But things seem to have worked themselves out and I'm now being allowed to login to blogger.com. This library 2.0 is a wonderful learning experience, it's just a bummer that my time is so limited that I must spend a sunny, holiday-from-work morning to catch up with my assignments. Ah, well, fun with YouTube....
My cousin Mary, who is a school librarian in Colorado Springs, sent me this wonderful YouTube video song from the Joe Uveges "When Freedom Calls" concert on November 2, 2007 in Colorado Springs. He sings for us the "Librarian Song" that I'm sure you will like!

Podcasts
I subscribe to numerous podcast via iTunes and load 'em up on my iPod. They are great entertainment while driving around Montana. My very favorite is Elvis Mitchell on KCRW's The Treatment. Weekly he interviews directors, producers, actors, writers, or film aficianodos. I love it! Check out KCRW for several other interesting podcasts. Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal does brief film reviews. They have over 20 podcasts including book and theatre reviews, politics, architecture, food....
I'm also hooked on some video podcasts that I seem to watch in the middle of the night when sleep eludes me. National Geographic's Atmosphere is great as well as Terra: the nature of our world. The most recent Terra episode, "Ranching in the West" is particularly of interest in our neck of the woods. Check out the Terra website--it's really cool.

LibraryThing
I'd forgotten about my librarything shelf of books but logged in this morning and added several more titles. I only wish there was a similar thing for movies!
Flickr
Okay, a person could spend days uploading photos! Since I am not at the library, those photos will have to wait until another day; only landscapes for now. View them via my "crowley's photos" feed.
Catch up (ketchup)
Trying to catch up on all the lessons since lesson 2 on this Sunday morning at Echo Lake. It has rained all through the night and my driveway is now a huge sheet of ice with about an inch of water on top, bordered by quickly dwindling piles of plowed snow. Dogs are snoozing peacefully in their beds while I furiously add rss feeds and research flikr. Oh! and I only had enough beans for one cup of cafe au lait this morning! This is a problem about living out in the country, one doesn't get to the grocery store on a regular basis. (I'll be headin' there today.)
